The Gâtinais Saffron
What is more valuable than Gold?
In the last century, saffron culture in the Gâtinais was exporting 20% of the world production. It declined as manpower costs increased.
Some passionnated producers gave birth again to this tradition, and now you can also find some saffron in the Gâtinais.

Les Praslines Mazet
They were born in the 17th century by the lovely union between almonds and sugar.
These little sweets were invented by the Duke of Praslin. The confectioner Léon Mazet recreated them from the beginning of the 20th century, and their reputation is now well known worldwide.
You can taste them without any restriction.

The Gâtinais Honey
It gains it's name for its quality and its sweetness.
Visit the Bee-keeping world and museum. Then, taste the honey, the pain d'épices (similar to your gingerbread), the sweets or any other wonders locally produced.

Other traditional products you can find in the area :
The Goat Cheese that can be served fresh as the cottage cheese or the well known Crottin de Chavignol, the fruits : cherries, apples and pears to prepare liquors or traditional deserts like the Tarte Tatin etc…
