The château of Saint-Brisson
Dating from the 12th century, the Château of Saint- Brisson-sur-Loire was built on a promontory overlooking the southern slopes of the Loire Valley.
It belonged to several distinguished families including the Courtenays and the Séguiers from 1567 and was bequeathed to the commune of Saint-Brisson-sur-Loire in 1987.
This edifice welcomed Louis le Gros in 1135 and Philippe Auguste in 1181, underment several transformations according to fashions along the ages.

The château of Sully
This castle, still amazing to see was originally built as a fortress in the 14th century on a Loire islet.
Designed by an architect of King Charles V, it was purchased in 1602 by Maximilien de Bethune (well known under the name of Sully), who was secretary to Henry the 4th. The four towers at each corner of the original keep are still preserved.
Each year in June an international music festival is organised on the grounds.

Saint-Fargeau Castle and its festival
It was built in 980, as a fortified meeting point for hunters by Heribert, Hugues Capet son, and then, in 1453, by Antoine de Cabannes, they added to the previous building, its pentagonal form with its six towers.
Each year, in July and August, one of the famous French summer festival is organised with an amazing historical reconstitution and fireworks, performed by 600 actors and 60 riders.

The Medieval Guedelon building site
Several years ago some people decided to build a fortified castle using the same materials, tools, process of the Middle Ages.

Les jardins du Grand Courtoiseau
The 18th century manor house is surrounded by a contemporary garden witch reflects that period.
Beautifully planted borders with old roses, perennials, bulbs, shrubs and topiaries of yews and boxes, thrive around the planted moats. Parkland, majestic limitrees walk, fontains, pools, antic statues add their attraction. The grand prize of "Société Nationale d'Horticulture de France", rewarded the garden where perfumes and whispering of the water will accompany your walk.
